The Female Safety & Security, the Nuances and Complexities

Presenter: Katherine Harman, Senior Director, Product Risks, WorldAware

The number of female travelers is at an all-time high; whether businesswomen, students, teachers, volunteers, or tourists, over 50% of travelers today are women. Against a backdrop of growing global security concerns, the risks facing female travelers are more pervasive than ever.  The health and safety needs of female travelers differ from those of their male counterparts. It is important for female travelers, and the organizations for which they travel, to understand the specific security and health risks and the importance of operating within different cultural and social norms. This presentation will help female travelers develop situational awareness, which is critical to safety and security when traveling and adapting to new environments.

As part of our ongoing philanthropic efforts, we are partnering with JBWS (Jersey Battered Women’s Services) a private, nonprofit agency that provides safety, support and solutions for abuse for anyone who lives or works in primarily Morris County, NJ and faces the issues of intimate partner abuse.

We will be collecting items onsite at the event for JBWS and have attached their wish list for those who would like to donate to this amazing organization.
